Meet the Chiefs
 

Joseph Biundo
Chief

Joe was born in 1968, and has resided in Glen Head his whole life. In January of 1986, at the age of 17, Joe joined the Glenwood Fire Company. Joe graduated from the North Shore High School in 1987. Joe has been a certified New York State Emergency Medical Technician since 1991 and in 1997 became a New York Certified Emergency Medical Technician Critical Care making him able to provide advanced life support. He served as Lieutenant from 1991 to 1993, and Captain from 1993 to 1998. In November of 1998 he was elected 2nd Asst. Chief, in November of 2000 he was elected 1st Asst. Chief and in November of 2002 he became Chief. He has also been the Captain of the Ski Team, Chairman of the Building Committee, Asst. Motor Chief and served on the Membership Committee. Joe is a member of the 5th Battalion Chiefs Association and the Fireman's Association of the State of New York.

 

Mark Broccolo
1st Asst. Chief

Mark was born in 1969, and has resided in Glen Head his whole life. In 1986, at the age of 17, Mark joined the Glenwood Fire Company. Mark graduated from the North Shore High School in 1987. In May of 1991 Mark graduated from S.U.N.Y. Delhi. Mark has been in the New York City Fire Department since 1995. He served as Lieutenant from 1992 to 1998, and Captain from 1998 to 2000. In November of 2000 he was elected 2nd Asst. Chief. In November of 2002 he was elected 1st Asst. Chief. He has also been the Asst. Motor Chief and Motor Chief and served on the Membership Committee. Mark is also a member of the 5th Battalion Chiefs Association and the Fireman's Association of the State of New York.

Tom Castle
2nd Asst. Chief

Tom was born in 1970, and has resided in Glen Head since 1997. Tom grew up in Bethpage NY and joined the Bethpage Fire Department in 1994 and was assigned to Engine Company Seven. In 1997 Tom joined the Glenwood Fire Company, He served as Lieutenant from 2000-2001, Captain from 2001-2002. In November of 2002 he was elected 2nd Asst. Chief. He has also served on the Membership, Fire Prevention and Truck Committees. Tom is also a member of the 5th Battalion Chiefs Association, Fireman's Association of the state of New York and the International Fire Chiefs Association. Tom is a former New York City Transit Police Officer and is currently assigned as a Detective in the New York City Police Department's Detective Borough Queens.
